Anne Louise MacDonald
'I see horses everywhere. In rearing clouds, the rump of a hill, the arching neck along a weathered root. So I decided to create horses from the driftwood I regularly collect on my beach walks.
I realize my visions as an assembler of the found forms crafted by wind, tide and time. I do only the most basic cutting and shaping when engineering the sculptures, enabling the natural lines of the wood to become the brushstrokes of an outline, the power of a body, the movement of legs and tails.'
Each of Anne's sculptures is unique. Each with an individual personality inspired by the pieces of wood, stone and beach glass handpicked from the shores of Nova Scotia.

I'm a wife, mother of two, and grandmother of 5.I was born in Antigonish and have lived my entire life here.
There is much inspiration in the beauty of the maritime provinces.
I have loved drawing and painting since my youth. I am self taught. My style is rustic and homey.
I paint what I love .. My heart is drawn to old barns, but I also love to paint animals on rocks, and spend my evenings hand drawing on blank greeting cards.

We are Wayne and Cindy MacPherson. We have enjoyed collecting sea glass from the shores of NS for several years. I make several creations with the sea glass and other things that we collect on our beachcombing trips. Creations like pictures, windchimes, suncatchers, jewelry, and other unique products. You never know what you'll find at our table. We try to keep our prices reasonable so everyone can enjoy them.
We hope to see you at the Art Fair this summer.

“My name is Colin MacDonald and I am a resident of St Andrews, Antigonish County. Since 2016 I have worked to improve my skills as an ametuer wildlife and nature photographer. My portfolio of work contains images of landscapes and wildlife in their natural habitat throughout NS and the rocky mountains of Alberta. David Hollohan
In 2019, I moved to Antigonish to be close to family during my chemotherapy treatments, finding solace and healing through art therapy. Embracing the natural beauty around me, I began crafting dioramas, wire bonsai trees, and whimsical figurines made from acorns and sticks, which I pose around town.
My work also includes creating intricate tide pools within hollowed-out gypsum rocks refilled with clear resin. Each piece is crafted using primarily locally sourced materials from the beaches and forests, reflecting the vibrant and diverse environments around Antigonish

Heather Smith
Heather Gabriel Smith is an artist and a cartographer. She lives in Antigonish, Nova Scotia: her hometown and the subject of most of her art. Her primary medium is woodcut printmaking, but she also makes oil paintings and hand drawn maps.
-
Jen Yang
She is originally from China and finds her muse in the serene St Mary's landscape, a significant shift from urban bustle to rural tranquility shaping her artistic narrative.
Her acrylic paintings blend post-impressionism's boldness with modern art's detail, employing vibrant colors and techniques that evoke the texture of oil paintings. They introduce depth and dimension using gel, paste, and the palette knife while applying rubbing alcohol resist techniques that bring complexity to the backgrounds.

Jessica Grande
Jessica lives in Antigonish with her husband, daughter, and dog. Originally from Ontario, her and her husband made the move to Antigonish in 2019 and have settled in nicely.
She is a GIS professional by day and enjoys spending quality time with her family. She began crocheting in 2023 as a way to improve mental health and try out a new hobby, and it quickly turned into a passion. Road trip crochet is her favorite way to pass the time. She enjoys making plushies that are pre-hugged with love by her and her daughter.

Rose Roney
Rose Roney is a newer artist in Antigonish. After a lifetime of being an ‘artist wannabe’, she finally got more serious about painting in 2018, at the age of 55.
Being a lover of nature and the outdoors, those themes often play out in her work. Other influences come from living for nearly seven years in a suburb of Paris where she deepened her love of Impressionism.
She has painted mainly in acrylic due a sensitivity to solvents used for oil painting, but she also delights in using hand-made charcoal.

Sophia Lawrence
My name is Sophia Lawrence (she/her). I am a queer visual artist, writer, and youth-educator from rural L'nuewa'ki (Antigonish), Nova Scotia.
Some of you may remember my work from my small business Marigold Studio. In my early teens I began making and selling greeting cards at local markets and street fairs under the name "Sophie's card Studio". After a few years the name changed to Marigold Studio. In high school I began designing more products with my art on them. I expanded into clothing, tote bags, pin-back buttons and more, and I was regularly selling my wares at Farmers Markets and Craft Shows. Over the years, Marigold Studio continued to evolve as I developed new products and designs. When I completed my BFA at Mount Allison University, I decided I wanted to transition to making and selling work as myself, Sophia.
