Grant Lounsbury

acrylic and oil teacher

Grant Lounsbury's fine art career spans 30 years and began in the field of traditional 2-D animation, where he worked on a variety of projects from Disney Television series to feature films with 20th Century Fox including Anastasia, and Titan AE

Since that time, he has worked on multiple animated feature films (such as Anastasia, Titan AE, and Werner) and a variety of television projects from Cartoon Network to Disney TV.

We are so lucky to have him as one of our talented Art Teachers here at The Arts House, located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Canada!

He currently works predominately as an oil painter and art teacher at St. Francis Xavier University, though continues to use his animation background for many illustration projects.

In his painting, he enjoys embracing a looser style that feels more alive & reveals to the viewer the movement, energy, and compassion he feels as an artist.

We asked Grant which artists are his inspiration to paint.
“I’d say Robert Bateman, Van Gogh and Group of Seven.”
