About East Coast Credit Union
East Coast Credit Union is honored to invite talented artists to submit proposals for a unique art piece that will grace our community room in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, as we celebrate 90 years of serving this remarkable community. Our roots are deeply entwined with the storied history of credit unions, dating back to the inspiring Antigonish Movement. We seek to commemorate this rich history and ongoing legacy through your art.
The Project
We are looking for an artwork that embodies the spirit of the Antigonish Movement, celebrating the profound impact of credit unions on this community and others in Nova Scotia. Your creation will serve as a visual testament to our shared history, our unwavering commitment to financial well-being, and the spirit of cooperation that defines our institution.
Themes to Explore
Legacy of Credit Unions: Showcase the enduring 90-year legacy and the positive impact we've made in the lives of our members, portraying their vital role in the economic and social fabric of our community.
Community Empowerment: Highlight the values of inclusivity, equity, and community engagement that have been at the heart of credit unions in Antigonish and Nova Scotia at large.
Innovation: Highlight our commitment to staying at the forefront of financial services while retaining our strong community roots.
Submission Guidelines
Artists are encouraged to submit their proposals, including concept descriptions, sketches, and relevant past work, by March 15th,2024.
The chosen artist will receive $5,000 along with funding for materials and installation.
The selected artwork will be displayed prominently in the East Coast Community Corner, a space that resonates with the history and values of our institution.
